Recently, due to a media invitation to give lectures, I checked the lectures of Yu Dan in the hundreds of forums on the Internet during the preparation. Since I have rarely watched TV, the 100 forums for Mr. Yu Dan and Yi Zhongtian have not been completely complete. I have heard it. I have seen two lectures by Prof. Dan on the Internet. I can’t help but feel the smooth and written language of Dan’s storytelling. Later, in the search, I accidentally saw a special program of "Hundreds of Lectures": Chai Jing interviewed Yu Dan, and Mr. Yi Zhongtian was also invited to be a special guest.

Speaking of the evaluation of Dan, Mr. Yi Zhongtian said that Yu Dan’s "The Analects of Confucius" is very deep, just like a high-quality wine, the audience needs a certain level to taste, and the host Chai Jing said: Many viewers think that Yu Dan is very shallow. Therefore, Mr. Yi Zhongtian, Ms. Yu Dan and Chai Jing presided over the discussion of the “deep” and “shallow” issues. I couldn’t remember the specific content of the discussion, but I felt that the problem was not clear.

I personally think that Yu Dan's "The Analects of Confucius" and "Zhuangzi's Experience", in addition to the brand image of his eloquence and beauty professors, are more important in the name of the ancient sages, and they are integrated into the modern human minds in a way that is out of context (innocent). Its main value is to inspire people.

Therefore, the "deep" and "shallow" questions should be analyzed from the perspective of the "inspiration" felt by the audience.

What is the meaning of "deep" in terms of the content of a lecture or article? What is "shallow"?

The bottom can be seen at a glance, no matter how deep, it is shallow. It is possible to reveal the essence of everyone’s sudden realization through the phenomenon that everyone can see at a glance. The true "deep" is not to make people unable to understand, but to enable people to see the essence from behind the phenomenon, to find the law from the essence, to anticipate the trend from the law, to make people realize or realize, or to be convinced. Or stunned, or sighed, or stunned in my heart, can achieve such an effect, can be described as deep.

This involves a level of problems. Because the so-called depth, not the distance of the vertical distance, but the number of penetration levels. There is no level, the vertical drop is big, and it is only a shallow layer. Just like "catch a pig in a narrow alley - straight and straight", the hutong is "deep" and shallow, because what you see at a glance is often just a phenomenon, not an essence.

For example, what is the nature and profit model of McDonald's? If you think that McDonald's is a fast food industry, it is a big mistake to make money by selling hamburgers. McDonald's CEOs often gnash their teeth to remind their employees: "Remember, we are not a food and beverage industry, we are the entertainment industry." This is the "staggered thinking."

The advantage of "staggered thinking" is that it can continue to "wrong", the more layers that are staggered, the deeper the essence is achieved. If we go down the "wrong" level along the "staggered thinking", we will find that the deeper essence and profit model of McDonald's is the "real estate industry" behind the "entertainment industry" - McDonald's excellent location ability and The brand effect of “Entertainment” can quickly establish a crowded “McDonald's Business Circle” in the local area, constantly stimulating the continued appreciation of real estate in the region, and then continuously increase the rent of franchisees. This is the secret of McDonald's becoming "a real estate company in history." Only by constantly “staggering layers” can it be found that McDonald’s appears to be a fast food industry selling hamburgers. In fact, its second layer is the joyful entertainment industry, and the deeper is the real estate industry. This is the real flaw in discovering the essence of the industry.

If you can't penetrate, you can't talk about it. Because the essence of deepness lies in the number of levels that can be penetrated. In general, the more layers you penetrate, the deeper the depth you reach.

We say that a story, a fable can be circulated in the world, women and children are known, old and young, then it must contain some essential and common things in the human spirit. These things are not just the plots and meanings of fairy tales, but some places that are hidden in fairy tales and are not easily noticed by human beings, but which resonate with people's spiritual or psychological underlying things in the subconscious.
The layman looks at the excitement and the insider looks at the doorway. The real "deep" is to turn the "following" of the layman into a "gateway".

In this regard, Andersen's fairy tale gives us another example.

"Since the parade has begun, let it continue." This is the later sentence in "The Emperor's New Clothes." That is, after the emperor heard a little boy saying, "He didn't wear clothes," he realized that he was not stupid and could not see the gorgeous new clothes, but he was indeed naked.

I have been familiar with this story since I was a child, but what has always puzzled me is that since I have realized that I am deceived, why did the emperor not wake up suddenly, ordered the arrest of the two liars, and went to the hands to quickly take other clothes to cover up. Instead of being naked, I think: "Since the parade has begun, let it continue."

Why did the emperor realize that he was still ridiculously streaking without regrets after he "gives and swears and turns a circle"?

This is an interesting question.

The lighter answer is that the emperor is stubborn, behind the stubborn is the face, behind the face is self-esteem, the pressure behind self-esteem, the pressure behind the risk, so that after the layers of penetration, we have approached the essence of the problem.

Psychologically, doing anything, changing in the middle is risky, and therefore subject to some unnecessary pressure, and maintaining a consistent practice in the past often means safety. For example, in the same environment, if a person emerges from the beginning with a dumbfounded face, then even if he wants to become an active member, he is difficult to do. There is only one exception, that is, to change a new environment, let him start from the beginning as a "cheerful" person, because in the new environment, no one knows the history of his past "silence." In a situation where everyone is familiar with him, if a dumb person suddenly becomes active, everyone must think that he is "injured." In order to avoid such risks and pressures, it is safe to continue to remain "silent" in the same environment. This is what we often say, “The tree is dying, and the people are moving.”

The same is true of the emperor's old man. He would rather continue to march in the parade, and he can't dismantle the scam. He can wipe his teeth and swallow it in his stomach, but he can't spit it out. This is why I know that I am deceived and continue to be fooled. (This also proves that I have always believed that the better tricks are not "surprisingly winning" but "successful trials.")

For reasons of psychological security, it is difficult for people to suddenly change their behavior without changing the environment. Even if he realizes that something is wrong, he is often reluctant to admit and correct the mistake, but he does not hesitate to make bigger mistakes to cover up the smaller mistakes, in an effort to prove that he has not been wrong.

Knowing the problem is not the same as solving the problem. So how can the emperor's old man persuade him to end this absurd streaking behavior?

You can only obey him. You can't say that he doesn't wear clothes. He can only say that he wears too much. The weather is too hot. If he is dressed in a parade, there will be heatstroke. Everyone is worried about the Emperor's dragon body. It is better to change clothes. Or go back to the palace to escape the heat.

I have always stressed that the way to persuade is to obey your persuasive objects, rather than trying to change them from the beginning.

This is the "Jiuyin Zhenjing" which is inspired by Professor Dan's "The Analects of Confucius". In this sense, Professor Yu Dan's "The Analects of Confucius" is not deep.
