Hermes opened its new store in Wangfu Peninsula

On September 15, 2006, the Hermès boutique at the Peninsula Hotel Beijing was opened. The store's building facade was extended and the store's area was expanded to 165 square meters. The interior design of the new store was completed by the French RDAI Interior Architecture and Design Company, obtaining a more enthusiastic, brighter and more attractive atmosphere.

Longer building facade, new colors

In the spacious lobby of the Beijing Wangfu Peninsula Hotel, there are many luxury boutiques, of which the Hermès store occupies a unique position. Its building facade is 2.8 meters high and its glass display window is embedded in a metallic gray partition. Jewels, watches and other precious objects demonstrate their value under soft and delicate lighting. The entire hotel lobby presents a rich light and shadow effect, while the windows of the Hermès store are contrasted by light and shade: the large, opaque dark areas have bright parts: the left side is horizontal light and the right side is vertical light effects.

Inheritance of the logo

Like all Hermès stores around the world, behind the traditional glass doors, the first space that catches the eye is the first space. The floor is a new decoration: it is covered with mosaics of white, red and grey, and the decorative pattern originates from the Hermès Main Store located at 24 Fubao Avenue in Paris. The Hermès brand logo, which also originated from this historical resort, is set on the ground at the entrance, which is a loyalty to Hermès's spirit.

In order to reduce the long and narrow effect of the corridor, the architects thought of treating the two side walls as opposed to each other. On the left side of the wall, cherry wood is used, and the display stands in the recesses contain various fragrances, bath amenities and exquisite meals. The right side of the wall is light Italian marble and the upper display stands out. Cortex jewellery and enamel jewelry are exhibited one by one, including beach supplies, living home series and silk products. In addition, the entire right wall, from the beginning to the end, is inlaid with a long light trough, which adds a bright light to the first space of the store. A tie that has entered the door as soon as it enters the door attracts customers to the second space on the left.

Avoid space with lots of eyes

Here, what surprised the old customers was the expansion of the second space, both to display more new products and to give customers more room. Therefore, customers can find all kinds of harness supplies and all the oldest crafts in Hermès, including the origin of Hermès: the saddle. However, the Pippa series will allow us to see Hermes' contribution to modern furniture design. In Beijing, the prestigious jewelry, watches and leather products in the new store have found a more enthusiastic and more effective display space. The depth of the new store is a more private space, showing men's and women's fashion. The female guests can even enjoy tailor-made tailoring services.

The entire store creates a peaceful atmosphere, the space is more transparent and balanced, and a more clear and more symmetrical design style is chosen for it. The shop lighting cleverly blends the wall light channels, the spherical glass lamps on the ceiling, the low-pressure spotlights that hit the store windows, and the fluorescent lamps inside the furniture. In an intimate space that avoids a lot of confusion, the exquisite atmosphere is reminiscent of the peaceful and distant inner world that is respected by traditional Chinese culture.

Not only adapts to each country and each different culture, but also retains the harmony and unity between different Hermes stores around the world. This is the design philosophy of RDAI Interior Architecture and Design Company led by Lina Dumai. It is also this that makes Hermes Beijing Wangfu Peninsula store is a unique one, and yet another Hermes store.

Fine details

In order to reinterpret the entire space, RDAI Interior Architecture and Design Inc. has injected new vitality into its store to match the continuous development of Hermès. The modernity of the store is reflected in countless details. At this point, both Lina Dumai and Hermès have paid equal attention to the fact that the molded ball-shaped glass lamp is embedded in a enamel pattern specially designed for Hermès in 1925. On the ceiling of the background; silk squares shine on the bright picture frame; series of leather lowchairs designed by Lina Dumai named “Confi ...dences” bring a real sense of salon atmosphere to the space ......

Decorative materials

The decorative materials used in the new store also reflect a rigorous and long-lasting style, echoing the overall architectural style of the store: European cherry wood for furniture and wall coverings, nickel-plated metal fittings, and special colors for Hermès The velvet carpet is more attractive than the mosaic tiles.

In this welcoming and hospitable atmosphere, Hermès vividly displays the glorious history through modern vocabulary.
